Freediving PH is a community app for discovering Philippine freediving spots, sharing dive stories and local conditions, connecting with other divers, and managing community badges and contributor profiles. Public spots, public profiles, and community posts can be browsed without creating an account.
Information We Collect
- Account information you choose to provide, such as display name, user name, email address, password credentials, profile photo, cover photo, bio, home location, account type, and optional phone number.
- Login information from supported login providers on platforms where those providers are available, such as provider account ID, public profile name, profile photo, and email address. The iOS app uses email login and guest browsing rather than Facebook or Google login.
- Community content you submit, such as posts, comments, forum messages, direct messages, dive spot proposals, spot notes, badge applications, certification files, proof notes, service listings, uploaded images, and uploaded videos.
- Location information when you choose to use location-based features, such as nearby dive spots or location-tagged posts. You can decline or turn off device location permission.
- Notification subscription data if you enable push notifications, such as push endpoint, subscription keys, platform, and user agent.
- Technical and security information needed to operate sessions, prevent abuse, diagnose errors, keep the app secure, and maintain app performance.
How We Use Information
- To create, authenticate, secure, and manage your Freediving PH account.
- To show your public profile, posts, comments, badges, services, and contributed freediving locations when you choose to share them.
- To verify contributor badges and freediving spot badge requests.
- To provide messages, notifications, saved items, marketplace features, support, appeals, and admin announcements.
- To review reports, moderate unsafe or abusive content, enforce our terms and safety standards, and prevent spam or misuse.
- To keep the service secure, troubleshoot issues, and improve the app experience.
Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell your personal information and do not use your activity for third-party advertising. Public community content, such as your display name, public profile, posts, badges, services, and contributed freediving locations, may be visible to other users of the app.
We may use service providers to operate the app, including hosting, database storage, object storage for uploads, email delivery, push notification delivery, maps or location display, payment or marketplace support, and login providers on platforms where those login providers are available. These providers may process data only as needed to provide their services to Freediving PH and must protect user data in a manner consistent with this policy.
Data Storage
Account and app data may be stored in our production database, object storage, backup systems, and server logs. We use reasonable technical safeguards, including HTTPS in transit, access controls, and hosted storage protections, to protect this data.
Retention and Deletion
We keep account and app data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. We may retain limited records for security, fraud prevention, moderation history, dispute resolution, legal compliance, backup recovery, or abuse prevention. You may request account or data deletion at any time using our Data Deletion Instructions.
Your Choices
You can browse public areas without creating an account. You can decline optional permissions such as location, camera, photo library, microphone, and notifications, although some account-based features may not work without the permission they require. You may stop using supported login providers from your provider account settings where those providers are available. You may withdraw consent for push notifications in your browser or device settings and may request account or data deletion by contacting us.
